UPI or Unified Payment Interface is a real-time payment system developed by NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) through which anybody can transfer money among Indian banks in the real-time or direct bank to bank in few seconds, it is a payment system which replaces NEFT, RTGS, IMPS payment systems in India , it is very quick and fast payment system service till now launched by the government of India in 2016 to all Indian users by the help of a mobile app called BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money), which gives users the facility to register their UPI by their bank linked mobile numbers and generate their UPI id (example123@upi) and 6 digit password to do quick and fast payments to another bank. It gives three modes of money transfer
1) By a mobile number linked to the bank : -
A user can transfer their money without another's bank number or IFSC code, it gives the facility to transfer the money from one bank to another by only given the others bank mobile number which is linked to his or her bank.
2) By the help of others UPI ID :-
A user can also transfer the money from one bank to others by another's user Bhim register UPI (xyz123@upi).
3) By the help of bank account number and IFSC code :-
It also facilitates the transfer of money from one's account to another by giving the receivers bank account number and IFSC code within the app.
although the service is to fast it also has some limitations like the limit of money transfer of Rs. 40,000 per day and transfer of Rs. 20,000 per transaction (per time) but it has 24x7 service provided by our government to transfer money pear to pear or bank to bank for free of cost.
